Day one at Cardigan Mountain\ by Josh Simpson. We got there around 10:00 AM, we were greeted by the AMC guides right as we got off the bus, we played some games and had fun for half an hour. After the activities it was time to get to hiking up cardigan. We had a strong start as we hadn't taken any breaks yet, so we were moving fast up the mountain. 12 or so minutes in I started carrying a 10 pound rock up the rest of the mountain. It was kinda tiring but not as hard as I thought it would be, it was a little tricky getting up the slippery rocks or the high elevated ones with the rock though. It was still something else to do while hiking up the mountain, way more entertaining than some boring old walking up a big rock. We finally stopped after a while for a snack break, during that break we also played some games where we had to find a pencil that he hid. We continued up the mountain when we came across some very slippery rock’s, but I still carried my rock up the slopes. Once we got to the near top, it was beautiful, you could see the entire of New Hampshire from that mountain side, except from the other side. We hiked up the mountain and made it to the top, it was windy and beautiful out. We hiked back down the mountain and waited for the bus to come. Whilst we waited we played some field games. That was our day 1
